Ural S(hit)teel

Hello people, today let's see some stuff about Ural Steel competition.

At first I'd like to quote one post from .EU forum:
In relation to last interview with Viktor Kislyi (CEO of Wargaming.net, developers of World of Tanks) that took place on “Tank Fest” in the UK, 1st Polish Armoured Division, 1 Sarmacki Batalion Pancerny and Pirates would like to make an official statement being an answer for accusations stated by Victor Kislyi.

We want to express our huge disappointment with the judgement stated by Victor Kislyi that Polish or Polish players containing Clans are commonly using “weak point skins” to take advantage over enemy.
This statement is absolutely not true and very painful specially said by as representative person as CEO of Wargaming.net. We are outraged of being practically called cheaters. Since the beginning of World of Tanks Polish players took places on the podium in every competition and championship You organized only by very hard work, being well organized and determination, also defeating our Russian colleagues in EU-RU server battles. We were all waiting with big excitement for “Ural Steel” tournament that supposed to give us the chance to fight against the best in the world for ultimate prize.

Russian teams were favourites in „Ural Steel” tournament – much bigger community and day to day Clan Wars battles, taking place months before EU server, was much better preparation for this tournament than grinding after release through low level tanks in standard random battles or companies and filling up empty spaces after players that left our clan with the end of beta test.

Victor Kislyi’s interview suggesting that Polish teams didn’t win “Ural Steel” finals because there was no “weak point skins” in Moscow and that all teams had equal chances wasn’t exactly the truth as:
- to Moscow went only those who were able get Visa, not the optimal squad
- difficulties with changing Russian version of the game (using Cyrillic alphabet) for European, made really difficult for other teams to understand who is playing which tank
- Russian commentator “selling” positions of unspotted tanks (of course not clear for non-russian speaking players)
- big screens that allowed to see enemy’s team tactics and positions
- general tendency to neglect European teams and other organisational problems despite hard work of Schperling and juraj (whom we thank once more)
We do understand that most of the problems (besides invitations to Russia) wasn’t Wargaming’s fault and we do not have any complains however neglecting them in order to suggest that European teams can't win without unfair advantage is unacceptable.

Link in this post leads to video(go forward to 3:20):

Such a 'funny story'.

But well, it is not everything...

Redbull12 post:
Russian commentator: "1stPAD lost its 2 tanks in city. No more 1stPAD`s tanks in the city" RED had to be grateful for this and a lot more similar infos which could be heard by whole audience and players.

About second matter: playng against RED I was sitting in a place which allowed me to raise my head and see screen with position of all enemy tanks. Of course I didnt look on this screen - that would be unfair and if sb caught me, my team would be DQ - but YES - I had possibility to look on screen which showed view from RED`s side.

And that is 'funny story'.:D

Personally I think this whole Ural Steel thing was bullshit. EU and NA players had difficulties with coming to Russia as there was Visa needed, so teams couldn't complete best squads which lead to lose against well organised RU teams which didn't have Visa problem... They didn't prepared everything the way it should be, Commentators were telling about not spotted tanks(see quote above) and there were possibilities to spy enemy teams easily which also shouldn't happen. And then we come to prizes, looks like they were so sure about this weakspot skins that they prepared prizes only for RU players such as netbooks with russian(that one funny with signs) keyboards.

Just to finish this post I'll add a quote:

If you can't do something properly, just don't do it at all.

Wargaming, Warfailing...

Hello folks, I wanted to, lets say, review Wargaming.net itself. As soon as we get on Wargaming website(http://wargaming.net/) we can see small wall of text, which as we can assume, is company description, lets take a closer look at it.

Each Wargaming.net’s title is guided by the following concerns: smart strategic concept, dynamic gameplay, quality graphics, strong online community. Our motto is "Strategic Satisfaction" - and that’s what our players will certainly get!

Sounds awesome, isn't it ? Well, if you look for something to complain about, each WG project will satisfy you. It wouldn't be so bothering, but I found something odd: according to google a phrase "highly acclaimed" can be found in 24 places on this websites, what can make us assume that WG is greatest development company ever, but well, their players know the truth. From the main site we can go to WoT section, and here we can read:

Your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

As far as I'm concerned we have about 110 vehicles only, and some of them are far from being 'historical accurate' in terms of performance. But well, it is not only thing which did hit me on this page, here comes another one:

    Key Features:
  • Action-packed 30-vs-30 PvP Tank battles

  • Mixture of Action, Strategy, Simulation and MMORPG genres

  • 150 Vehicles, thousands of upgrades

  • Unprecedented global Clan Wars

According to this, we should have 30 tanks per team, as well as 'thousands of upgrades', but it seems that we are missing some of them :).That is all for today, tankers!

Have fun playing WoT:)

First Post

At first of all, I would like to introduce myself. I played this game since open beta phase start, and I have done over 4 000 battles against enemy tanks(and game failures), and I decided to start creating this blog to make you aware of some missings which this game already has, and to express my point of view about World of Tanks. Whoever is reading this, feel free to leave a comment or actually do whatever you want :).

Have fun WoT (future) WoT players.
